‘Self-portrait with pink tissue paper'
-
Painted with sprinkles of pink tissue paper, this ghostly self-portrait portrays my face cast in shadow.
The face shows a continuous line from the eyes to the mouth which hopes to demonstrate how I follow the brush marks in one movement. Taking my eyes away from the canvas meant I lost the perspective and struggled to refocus on the whole painting. This painting ‘Self-portrait with pink tissue paper was Inspired by Clare Brice Bett’s paintings ‘Head with dark neck’ - 1985 and ‘Head on grey‘ - 1985.
I have exaggerated the features of the faces in my interpretation. -
